After only a short train ride from Kyoto we immediately go for our first Wagyu beef BBQ. Our first day we taste the necessary food and do more vintage shopping.
The second day is dedicated to do architectural sightseeing around Kobe. We spend the morning at Frank Lloyd Wright's Yodoko house in Ashiya.
Then we take the bus from Sannomiya station to Awaji island to see Tadao Ando's Water Temple and Yumebutai. The latter is a maze-like blend of landscape design and Ando's signature concrete architecture. The whole complex is free and if we weren't in a rush to get the bus back to Kobe we could have spent hours here.
