We arrive in Athens around noon. The heat is scorching so we take a nap, visit some antique shops in our street and go out into town at night. As dutiful tourists we go to the Parthenon and its museum the next day. I buy my favourite vintage levi’s in a vintage shop called Treasure House. I tell the owner what I’m looking for and he picks out the perfect jeans from between the piles of indigo blue. And on top of that he gives us some excellent food recommendations.
On the second day we visit as many classical temples as the heat allows us to. Which is not that many. In the evening we quench our insatiable thirst and hunger for Greek food in the charming bars and restaurants of Kerameikos.
For our final day, we go into colourful Exarcheia with its cozy bars and vintage shops, barely surviving the 46°C heat.
