Khiva

2 days

Driving from Nukus to Khiva we have the friendliest driver to ever exist. As we drive past his home town of Urganch he stops at a bakery to get us a delicious flaky bread fresh out of the oven. Once arrived in Khiva he insisted to help us find our guesthouse and carry our bags. He was sweating when we finally found the guesthouse.

The ancient town of Khiva is very small. Only around 120 families still live in the city centre, some of them operate a guesthouse. The rest of the town is dedicated to tourism. It is not uncommon to bump into the same faces when strolling through the city.
