Shanghai

The city of skyscrapers, neon lights and luxury. And also of qipao dressmakers. Something I did not need to be told twice. Only 4,5 hours by fast train from Beijing we arrive in Shanghai.
Despite its neon image, Shanghai also has some art deco skyscrapers, Bavarian style villas and the charming French concession, reminiscent of glamorous old Shanghai. Unfortunately it rains on the weekend so we highly doubt there will be anyone at the iconic Marriage Market at People's Square.
Another must visit is the Jade Temple. Not so much for the Temple itself - we have seen our fair share of buddhist temples by now - but for the amazing glazed aubergines the temple restaurant served.
