Naju farm stay
10 days
We were met with a lot of astonishment when telling people we were going to Jeollanam-do. One of our Korean friends was even a little worried. Why would we go to such a remote corner of the country? Well, to work on an organic farm. We arrived at Naju train station full of excitement and left 10 days later with our hearts and stomachs full.
After traveling for several months we actually craved a little bit of a fixed daily schedule. And that’s exactly what we got. Get up at 7 am. shower. Clean the room and put aside our bed. Breakfast at 7:45 am. Dishes after breakfast. Start working. NO SNACKS. Lunch at noon. Dishes after lunch. Start working again at 14:00. NO SNACKS. Dinner at 18:00. Dishes after dinner. Have some tea and relax. Sleep at 22:00.
Helping out on the farm was rewarding, but it was the overall relationship with Mr. Cheung and Mrs. Go that left us wholehearted. We made kimchi together, shared lots of laughs, broke the ultimate NO SNACK-rule with “grandpa” and even had barbecue inside the kitchen. An experience we will hold dear to our hearts for the rest of our lives.
