A big part of the ridge is closed in winter and our choice to start in Gurye leaves us with no option but to hike up Nogodan. We are tired. It feels like the effort from hiking up mount Hallasan is still in our legs. The hike from our hotel up to Nogodan pass is not very impressive apart from a beautiful frozen waterfall.  But on the pass we are in the clouds in a snowy wonderlands. It looks like we are suddenly in a black and white movie.  The entry to the pass is quick and we take the last hundred meters to Nogodan peak. There is no view to suspect we are on a peak but the icy wind that cuts through our skin sure does. It is difficult to stay upright and our heads feel like exploding.
